Cybercrime, cyberactivity and cybersecurity
Besides our daily engineer/research jobs, we invest a small amount of time (and some amount of resources) into finding the latest cyberthreats. After some time, using some proprietary combination of algorithms, tools and knowledge, we are amazed (at least to be said) how low is the interest in cybercrime. It happens all day/all night, at low to high level, at individual to nuclear level, yet most of the individuals that use the Internet think that ”nobody has a direct interest in my data”.
True, you (as a person or company) are no one’s direct target. You are just a random target among other targets. We’ll get on that on small steps, since it might be a little bit hard for the usual users to digest.
