With the problems that NO-IP service is facing now, it seems that there are several CCTV setups that rely on this kind of (3rd party) service.
Although we are aware that they provide good services, we still wonder why, in a security setup, you let 3rd parties interfere. What would happen if someone hijacked there DNS services and reroute you to a fake (phising) login page as used in your DVR/NVR/IPCamera?
Or maybe use a software that sits in the middle (MITM) between your surveillance system and your client software?
It would be like giving your credentials to access (and maybe disable) the security system.
Our advice: Keep the Security Systems secure. Use no 3rd party tools, especially ones that could open up new dangers.
